Helping Vulnerable Groups
What is the definition of a vulnerable child when talking about attainment and progress? How do we help you to identify those pupils who may slip behind without the support they need?
Who, What and When
We think that it is important to recognise that what constitutes a ‘vulnerable’ pupil will vary from region to region, school to school and at different ages. Rural pupils in small schools may be facing different challenges to those in a big city, and new evidence is often emerging about those who may need help, for example white, working class boys have recently been identified as an underachieving group. More common and historically recognised groups are those pupils who have special needs and those who are not yet fluent in English or who speak it as a second language and perhaps never speak or write it at home.
By making use of the FilterBlockTM which is unique to Pupil*Asset EVERY SINGLE report is available for those cohorts who you may be falling behind so that you can get a clear picture of what is happening – if you have imported SEN, EAL, Ethnicity, Free School Meal and Gender data (to name a few) then you can report on any combination of the above! And the detailed pupil profile means that you can also relate this to scores and targets of individuals within the group. You can also easily create and track your own groups.
Detailed pupil profiles, with graphical displays of progress, targets and extra curricular achievements. Instant point-score and value-added calculations.
