September Updates - SATs Special

In the News...

Statistical First Release updated to include Higher Attainment figures

Results are no longer reported as levels with each pupil now receiving their test results as a scales score and teacher assessments based on the standards in the interim framework.

This updated Statistical First Release presents attainment in these assessments.

As schools are already aware, the expectations for pupils at the end of key stage 2 have been raised. As a result, 53% of pupils reached the new expected standard and just 5% reached a high standard in reading, writing and mathematics.

Progress data will be presented in the revised release in December.

New Publication: Assessment Collections created on Gov.UK

To make online navigation easier for primary schools and other web users, the Government has improved their document collections, which contain information about assessments at key stage 1 and key stage 2.

The collections will be updated throughout the year to provide information for the 2017 test cycle.

Pupil Asset users can also find useful links here.

Data checking exercise did your school fare?

By now schools should have completed their data checking exercise for the performance tables (deadline was 16th September) and should be a little clearer as to whether they have met the floor standard for progress.

If you are still not clear, click here to access 'data guru' James Pembroke's Floor Standard calculator (NB. Download and save, don’t overwrite!)

These results will be formally published mid December with schools being able to view their own Tables’ entries 24 hours ahead of publication.

Primary School Accountability Document updated to reflect Progress Data

Released at the same time as the data checking exercise, the DfE have also released the updated Primary Accountability Guidance.

This includes new information on the progress measures, prior attainment groupings and more details on the 2016 floor standards.

Coming soon… Pupil Asset users will soon be able to view their progress data via the reporting section.

NEW! NC 2017 Frameworks

After receiving lots of requests from schools to merge the National Curriculum and KS1/KS2 Interim Frameworks, we are pleased to announce that the NC 2017 Frameworks for Reading, Writing and Maths are now available in Pupil Asset.

These aim to give teachers the best of both worlds by allowing tracking of progress through the whole curriculum during the year, as well as specifically tracking the Interim Framework statements to support with end of year teacher assessment.
