DevelopHER was founded in 2013 by Vickie Allen promoting gender equality in the technology industry. Based in East Anglia, the not for profit organisation run regular meet ups, encouraging women to attend tech events and showcase their talents. Every year, they organise an awards ceremony where the public are asked to cast their vote for various different awards. From newcomers and apprentices to designers and testers, the awards cover a wide variety of different roles within the tech industry. On the night of the event, both women and men come together to celebrate the nominees and winners, meeting like-minded professionals whilst enjoying the wine reception and chocolate fountain! This year the DevelopHER Awards will take place on 29th November at The Corn Exchange in Cambridge.
Specialising in education technology, we work with schools on a daily basis and understand the importance of students gaining valuable experience in the workplace. Every year we provide a supportive and nurturing environment for both work experience and apprenticeships alike. Because of this, we are pleased to announce that we are the proud sponsors of the Apprentice Award for the DevelopHER ceremony. This award celebrates all those starting out, proving that you don’t necessarily need a degree to work in the industry. We appreciate the hard work of apprentices and believe they deserve to be encouraged and celebrated.
The awards ceremony is an excellent way to encourage women of all ages to join such a welcoming, friendly tech community and we look forward to provide continued support in future. Every nomination counts so if you haven’t already done so, you can nominate females of all ages by visiting developherawards.com. We look forward to meeting and celebrating with you on the night!
